The International half of current affairs started with the raising of a flag on Hans Island. Now, its apparent to us all, Canada and Denmark may begin tossing snowballs at each other, or worse.

The world, I suspect, settles into a comfy chair and asks for popcorn.

The state of Kansas, meanwhile, is being bombarded with e-mails over its recent decision to counter science fact with Intelligent Design. Weighing into the debate are proponents and followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but the comments from the street reassure me that the Internet has its disciples as well.
